A team is the organization that enters and runs racing cars. It hires people, develops or prepares equipment, and manages competition.
What is a manufacturer?
A car manufacturer produces automobiles. It may own a racing team, supply engines or other equipment, or support independent teams.
Sometimes they overlap
A manufacturer-backed team and a customer team can both compete in the same championship. Branding alone does not establish who designs every part of a racing car.
