Formula E has published its largest-ever season schedule, with the FIA validating a 21-race calendar for the 2026-27 championship across 13 host cities in 11 countries. The announcement, made on 23 June 2026 following sign-off from the FIA World Motor Sport Council, coincides with the introduction of the Gen4 car, which Formula E describes as its most powerful machine yet, with more than 800 brake horsepower.
The season opens with a Jeddah double-header on 18 and 19 December 2026, before heading to the Americas for rounds in Mexico City, the all-new Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Miami and Sao Paulo. A new permanent venue at Haitang Bay in Sanya, China follows, ahead of an expanded European leg featuring Monaco, Berlin's Tempelhof Airport circuit, London's new home at Brands Hatch, and championship debuts for the Zandvoort circuit in the Netherlands and Madrid's Jarama venue. The season closes with a Shanghai and Tokyo double-header in late July 2027.
In a subsequent update on 5 August 2026, Formula E and the Automobile Club de Monaco confirmed the Monaco E-Prix date had shifted to 1 and 2 May 2027 to avoid a clash with the World Endurance Championship, alongside a long-term extension of the Monaco deal through 2031. Formula E co-founder Alberto Longo said the calendar was designed to deliver maximum sporting drama across its biggest season yet.
For African motorsport followers, the continued absence of an African venue from Formula E's rapidly expanding calendar remains notable, even as the series adds new stops across four continents. No African race has been publicly proposed by Formula E to date.
